Apple Health export

Export your Apple Health data — your way.

Health.md turns the Apple Health records you authorize into CSV, JSON, Markdown, or Obsidian files you control — with the metrics and date range you choose.

No Xcode project. No scripts. No giant XML to wrangle first.

Why people look for this

The built-in export has limits

On iPhone, the Health app offers Export All Health Data from your profile. It produces a comprehensive archive — a large download containing XML with everything — but you can't select specific metrics or a date range, and the result needs converting before a spreadsheet, notebook, or AI tool can use it.

That's the gap Health.md fills: instead of one all-data archive, you choose what to export, which dates to cover, and which format to receive.

How it works

Three decisions, then export

1

Install and authorize

Download Health.md and authorize the Apple Health categories you want to share. Health permissions stay under your control, and no Health.md account is required.

2

Choose format, destination, and dates

Pick CSV, JSON, Markdown, or Obsidian Bases; choose a folder, your Obsidian vault, your connected Mac, or your own API endpoint; then pick a date range — today, yesterday, all time, or custom.

3

Preview and export

Review exactly what will be written before anything is created, then export. The files land where you chose — ready for spreadsheets, notes, scripts, or AI tools.

Formats

One export, six destinations for your data

CSV

One file per day with the header Date,Category,Metric,Value,Unit,Timestamp. Opens in Excel, Google Sheets, or any analysis tool. CSV format details

JSON

Structured JSON for scripts, Shortcuts, and developers who want to build on their own data. JSON format details

Markdown

Readable daily summaries for journals, notes, and archives — no parsing required. Markdown format details

Obsidian vault

Write straight into your vault — daily notes and Obsidian Bases included. How the Obsidian export works

Folders

Save exports to any local folder you choose and keep them alongside the rest of your files. Export destinations

API endpoints

POST a JSON envelope straight from your iPhone to an HTTP(S) endpoint you configure. API endpoint setup

Privacy

Private by design

Health.md does not store your health data. There is no Health.md health-data cloud: processing happens on your devices, and your records go only to the destinations you choose.

No account is required for core export workflows. Health permissions, files, and settings stay under the controls of your device and the destinations you pick.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I need Xcode or coding skills to export my Apple Health data?

No. Health.md is a shipping App Store app: you pick metrics, a date range, and a format inside the app. There is nothing to build and no scripts to run.

Does my health data leave my phone when I export it?

Only to destinations you choose. Health.md does not store your health data and keeps no server-side copy; exports go to your folder, Obsidian vault, connected Mac, or your own API endpoint.

Is there a free trial?

The app includes 10 free export actions. After that, a one-time lifetime unlock removes the limit — Health.md does not sell a recurring consumer subscription.

Does Health.md work with Android and Health Connect?

Yes. Health.md ships a dedicated Android app for Health Connect alongside the Apple apps, with the same local-first export model.

Which formats can I export Apple Health data to?

CSV, JSON, Markdown, and Obsidian Bases, plus folder exports and API delivery. You choose the format for each export.

Is Health.md a medical app?

No. Health.md is a data portability tool, not a medical device or healthcare provider, and it does not provide medical advice.
