What Health.md does
Private health data exports
Health.md reads only the Apple Health or Health Connect categories a user authorizes and writes selected data as Markdown, CSV, JSON, or Obsidian Bases. The result is a portable file for journals, spreadsheets, scripts, archives, and tools the user controls.
Scheduled local automation
Users can run recurring exports from their device to a chosen folder, Obsidian vault, connected Mac, or configured API endpoint. Scheduling turns a manual data pull into a repeatable workflow while keeping the destination under the user's direction.
CLI, MCP, and direct device access
The standalone healthmd CLI and MCP server connect scripts and supported agents to explicitly paired phones or the released Mac helper. They return scoped data with units, coverage, missingness, evidence, and limitations instead of asking a model to guess from screenshots.

How Health.md started
Health.md began in January 2026 as an Apple Health-to-Markdown exporter for ordinary files and Obsidian. It expanded into Apple and Android apps, scheduled automation, public export contracts, a standalone CLI, and local agent workflows.
